Raising money to help others

School Council

Each class elects two of its class mates to represent their views on the School Council. The School Council meets under the guidance of Mrs Galey, two or three times a term to discuss any issues the children wish to raise and also to consider how to make improvements to life in school. They are currently raising money to buy additional small playground equipment. Minutes of meetings are written and displayed in the KS2 corridor for everyone to read.

To raise money for additional playground equipment at lunchtime, the School Council arranged a fund-raising event. Each child in the Juniors made a table decoration and sold them to family and friends. A total of £250 was raised.

Club and Team News

Music Lessons

We offer music together with speech and drama lessons during the school day. There is a charge for all of these.

  • Piano
  • Speech and Drama

Lu Jeffery teaches the above. Arrangements are made directly between teacher and parents. Please ask in the Office for her contact details.

North Somerset Music Services comes into School to teach the following group lessons:

  • Violin
  • Saxophone
  • Flute
  • Guitar

Letters go home in June each year informing parents about these instrumental lessons and the booking procedure for a September start. As they are group lessons, it is rare to be able to offer the opportunity to start lessons later in the year. These lessons are open to Key Stage 2 children. Further detail available from the Office

We  hold a Concert in June to give the opportunity for our musicians and drama pupils to perform to an appreciative audience.
